Maldives attracts 200,000 tourists in February 2024

The total tourist arrivals to the Maldives reached little over 200,000 by February 26, 2024, reports the Ministry of Tourism.

According to the ministry's most recent update, tourist arrivals so far in February has already reached 200,004; indicating a 19.9% increment from the same duration last year.

In 2023, Maldives attracted 166,762 travelers for the same period from February 1 to 26.

The annual tourist arrivals by February 26, reached 392,389 which is 15.7% above the arrivals in the corresponding period last year; which was observed at 339,261.

Arrivals from China has already exceeded 50,000 and maintains its top market position while Russia has taken up second place beating Italy into third.

Chinese arrivals by the review date reached 52,709, which is 13.4% of the total tourist arrivals so far in 2024, and Russia is in second with 37,877 exact arrivals while the arrivals from Italy is at 37,393.

UK is the fourth strongest market with 34,798 arrivals with India in fifth rank with 25,751 arrivals.
