President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed to remain consistently committed in serving the public, while speaking at Raa Alifushi on Saturday, March 02, 2024.

While speaking at the rally in Alifushi, President Dr. Muizzu affirmed of fulfilling the pledges he made for the island during his previous presidential campaign visit.

Alifushi Airport project is among the key development initiatives for the island. Contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for MVR 451 million in 2021, the project has observed the completion of the airport terminal's foundation. However, the project has observed significant delays.

Dr. Muizzu assured the airport project will proceed as per the wishes of Alifushi public, by reclaiming and adding additional land to establish an industrial zone.

"When I start going over the pledges during my visits, many have begun claiming that I have once again started to make promises. This is not like that at all, these are pledges that were made earlier," President said.

Besides this, he promised to transform the island's health centre into a hospital, and establishment of additional sports facilities in the ongoing sports complex development project, establishment of a Bank of Maldives (BML) branch and a waste management system for the island.

He assured all the pledged initiatives will commence during 2024.

President Dr. Muizzu is on a three-day trip visiting all local islands of Raa and Baa atoll. He is accompanied by a senior government delegation.
