Ooredoo launches Gamers' Land

Ooredoo Nation Gamers' Land 2024 activities have officially commenced on Monday evening, March 04, 2024.

The event was officiated by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts Ibrahim Waheed.

The Ooredoo Nation Gamers' Land invites the Maldivian gaming community and gaming enthusiasts to participate in the activities, which include popular gaming titles like the EAFC 24, Mobile Legends and PUBG tournaments with a total prize pool of MVR 700,000.

This year's Gamers' Land edition includes inter-school, inter-university and college, inter-office, and inter-resort tournaments.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, minister Waheed acknowledged Ooredoo Maldives' role as a trendsetter and innovater of communication and digital technology services in the Maldives. He further highlighted competitions such as the Gamers' Land provide extra income generating sources for local youths.

"What the youth and gamers can guarantee is the quality of the competitions organized by Ooredoo. I also thank Ooredoo for catering to high-quality e-sports activities," the minister said.

The CEO and Managing Director of Ooredoo Maldives Khalid al-Hamadi said the Gamers' Land 2024 edition is special as it invites gamers and gaming enthusiasts of all age groups. 

He also highlighted Ooredoo's commitment towards innovative solutions and enhancement of customer experiences.

For the first time ever, all the participants have the chance to compete for the "Ultimate Player" trophy in the 2024 edition of the Gamers' Land.
