BAM Corruption: ACC to probe association's pres

President of Badminton Association of Maldives (BAM) --

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has begun searching properties and venues believed to hold ties to Moosa Nashid, the president of Badminton Association of Maldives (BAM).

Nashid is alleged of multiple corrupt transactions through the association he holds presidency seat of.

ACC said it began searching the properties and venues with suspected relation to Nashid, under a court order.

ACC cracked down on the badminton association last week owing to suspicion of multiple offenses. An investigative team from the commission entered BAM's premises to search for important documents in relation to the corruption allegations.

While the commission has launched investigations on BAM, it has been probed Football Association of Maldives (FAM) for several allegations of corruption and misconduct.

Some of these cases have already been filed with relevant courts for trials.
