Distribution of zakat in grains begins

The Islamic Ministry has announced that the distribution Zakat al-Fitr in grains will be conducted from Monday to Tuesday.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the distribution of zakat in grains will be carried out from the hall of Aminiya School.

The timings:

• Monday: 11:00 am to 04:00 pm and 08:30 pm to 10:30 pm
• Tuesday: 11:00 am to 03:30 pm and 08:30 pm to 10:30 pm

In the capital, the zakat will go to people registered as poor and destitute with the Male’ City Council.

The Islamic Ministry previously said it collected MVR 4.4 million in zakat during the first 20 days of Ramadan.

The collection of Zakat al-Fitr took place between March 11 and April 6.
