Maldivian, the flag carrier of the Maldives, has resumed flights between Hanimaadhoo International Airport and Trivandrum, India.

The airline celebrated the resumption of the fights, which were suspended for the Hanimaadhoo airport expansion project, on Friday.

Maldivian will operate two weekly flights between Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum, departing every Friday and Monday.

The airline will use its Dash-8 aircraft for the route.

The fare begins at MVR 5,191.

In an earlier statement announcing the resumption of flights on the route, airline said that, “restoring this strategic flight further solidifies Maldivian’s commitment to connecting northern Maldives with key regional destinations, enhancing travel options for passengers in the north, and promoting cultural and economic exchange between the two nations.”

Commenting on the significance of the re-launch of this route, Ibrahim Iyas, the Managing Director of Maldivian, said that it will boost travel trade, and support the socio-economic growth of the Maldives.

He thanked the authorities and partners, especially the Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL), for supporting and making the new route possible.

Maldivian said that the service resumption from Hanimaadhoo to Trivandrum represents, “an exciting milestone for both Maldivian, and the travelers seeking seamless connectivity between the Maldives, and South India.”

With its rich history, diverse culture, and thriving business opportunities, the airline believes that Trivandrum will add value to its ever-growing route network.

Ticket bookings for Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum route are available from all Maldivian’s sales channels, including its website, mobile app, and ticketing office.
