Power has been restored to all areas of Kulhudhuffushi City after resolving the technical issue to FENAKA’s powerhouse on the island with assistance from STELCO.

STELCO’s Managing Director Hussain Fahumy, in a post on X, announced that power has been restored to all areas of Kulhudhuffushi after resolving the issue in question through a collaborative effort between STELCO’s educated, capable and experienced team and FENAKA’s staff.

FENAKA’s power output was interrupted after three control modules were damaged owing to a transformer malfunction.

FENAKA said power was restored to the whole island at 8:10pm this evening after resolving the issue.

Many islands have faced power interruptions recently.

Earlier, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had said that the electricity services in multiple islands were in poor condition when the current administration came to power. He added that several powerhouses in different islands were in rundown condition, and said his government was actively working on replacing old power generators in the relevant islands.
