Parliament grants approval to appoint eight ambassadors

Parliament approves eight ambassadors to foreign nations and international agencies.

The Parliament, on Monday, has granted approval to appoint eight individuals as Maldivian ambassadors to various nations and international agencies as sought by the government.

The eight ambassadors that received parliamentary approval at Monday’s sitting are;

  • Maldivian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu)
  • Maldivian Ambassador to the United Kingdon (UK) – Dr. Iruthisham Adam
  • Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka – Masood Imad
  • Maldivian Ambassador to Singapore – Mohamed Luwaiz
  • Maldives’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) – Dr. Ali Naseer
  • Maldives’ Permanent Representative to the UN Headquarters in Geneva – Dr. Salma Rasheed

At Monday’s sitting, the Parliament also voted on several bills and the appointment of a member to the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
