Dhiraagu successfully wraps up Fuvahmulah Run with over 1,000 runners

Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run 2025 successfully concluded in Fuvahmulah City this weekend, marking the first time an edition of the Maldives’ biggest run, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR), was held in the atolls.
Organized in collaboration with Fuvahmulah City Council, the Women Development Committee, and the Athletics Association of Maldives, the Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run took place in Fuvahmulah on Friday - promoting the southern city as a promising running destination while fostering a vibrant running community in the Maldives.

A total of 1,112 participants took part in this historic run, which featured 5K, 10K, and half-marathon categories.
Similar to DMRR, Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run awarded attractive cash prizes to winners across various categories, with a total prize pool of MVR 232,000 distributed among the top finishers.

The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the first and only international run held in the Maldives that is listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified race route.
Dhiraagu said that the expansion of the race to Fuvahmulah reflects company’s commitment to fostering a healthier, more active community and supporting local tourism by showcasing the unique beauty of the Maldives.
