The pilgrims traveled to Mina early Friday morning after spending at the night in Muzdalifah.

They will remain in Mina the next three days, marking 10th, 11th and 12th of Dhul Hijjah month. On 10th and Eid al-Adha, they will complete stoning of the biggest Jamarat, Jamarat Al-Aqaba, and continue with the other rites of Eid, including the ritual animal sacrifice.

A total of 1,000 Maldivians traveled to Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage this year.

The Maldives was added to the Makkah Route Initiative this year, which means pilgrims were able to complete immigration procedures of both countries at the Velana International Airport before leaving for Saudi Arabia.

This eliminated waiting time at Jeddah airport and allowed pilgrims to directly go to their hotels with their luggage.
