First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, on Tuesday, has departed for Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the 7th Edition of the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative (MFFLI) Summit as the guest of honor.

The summit will be held from Wednesday, June 18th to Thursday, June 19th.

The First Lady is set to speak at both the Inauguration Session and the Committee Meeting of the Summit, where she will address critical social issues such as eliminating the stigma around infertility, supporting girls' education, empowering women, and strengthening healthcare systems in areas facing skills shortages.

The Summit, which brings together first ladies from Africa and Asia, will also assess the progress of ongoing partnerships with the Merck Foundation since the 11th Edition of the Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary held in Tanzania last year. The First Lady attended that event and was later appointed as a Merck Foundation More Than A Mother Ambassador.

In recent months, First Lady Sajidha has built a strong partnership with the Merck Foundation to enhance capacity-building in vital health fields, especially infertility and embryology. She is also working alongside the Foundation to raise awareness on infertility as well as the prevention of diabetes and hypertension.
