Road Development Corporation (RDC)’s deputy managing director Mohamed Asbah Ali Naseer has been transferred laterally to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), less than a week after Ali Zuhair was similarly moved from his role as managing director of RDC to the same role at the HDC.
The HDC confirmed Asbah’s appointment in a post via its social media channels on Sunday afternoon.
“Looking forward to shared success and continued growth under your leadership,” wrote the HDC in the post.
We are delighted to welcome Mohamed Asbah Ali Naseer as our new Deputy Managing Director.

Asbah was appointed as RDC’s DMD on December 19, 2023, shortly after the People’s National Congress (PNC) administration came to power.
He replaces HDC’s former DMD Fayaz Mansoor, who resigned from the role on July 31, a day after MD Mohamed Mauroof Jameel left the corporation and was replaced by RDC’s MD Zuhair.
We sincerely thank Mr. Mohamed Asbah Ali Naseer for his exemplary service and leadership as Deputy Managing Director. Wishing him success in all his future pursuits. pic.twitter.com/Y7jMuFPxo7

Both Fayaz and Mauroof had been appointed to leadership roles at the HDC after the corporation’s former chief Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed was dismissed in the wake of a corruption scandal.
They both left after half-a-year on the job.
Neither have provided a public explanation for the decision, including Mauroof, who had previously planned on retiring later this year, but abruptly resigned instead.
