Fire breaks out in Male’ home

A fire broke out at an apartment in the Henveiru district of Male’ City on Monday, resulting in damages.

According to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), the incident took place at an apartment on the second floor of H. Melbourne.

It was reported to the Fire and Rescue Service at around 11:00 am.

Firefighters were immediately deployed to the location, and managed to put out the fire at 11:17 am.

According to MNDF, the fire originated from the apartment’s kitchen, and resulted from the exhaust hood catching fire.

While the incident did not result in any injuries, the fire spread inside the kitchen, resulting in damages.
