Bus, 3 motorcycles collide on highway; Police bike involved

Three motorcycles, including a police motorcycle, collided with a bus on the Sinamale Bridge highway on Tuesday evening.

Police first confirmed that the accident involved three motorcycles and a bus, and that several people were injured in the accident and taken to hospital for treatment.

A video currently circulating on social media shows police active on the highway at the scene of the accident.

The video shows the helmets and bicycle parts of the victims scattered far and wide on the highway.

Police later explained how the accident happened in a media message. The accident involved a speeding motorcycle. The incident occurred when the motorcycle attempted to overtake another motorcycle, driving between it and the bus, resulting in a collision with the second motorcycle. The second motorcycle then went under the bus.

Additionally, the speeding motorcycle also collided with a parked police motorcycle on the other side of the highway.

The accident resulted in injuries to the driver of the speeding motorcycle, the driver of the second motorcycle, and a 15-year-old female passenger. None of the injuries are reported to be serious.

The speeding motorcycle has been towed, and police are currently investigating the matter.
