Maldives tightens import rules for types knives

The Homeland Security Ministry on Tuesday published new regulations that tighten the rules for import of types of knives, including flick knives and butterfly knives, that authorities say are commonly used in gang fights and assaults. According to the ministry, the new rules seek to establish strong regulations for the import of sharp instruments such as knives, and ensure public safety.
