Civil Court orders Heavy Load to pay MVR 232,000 to RKL

The Civil Court has ordered Heavy Load Maldives Private Limited, owned by Hulhuhenveyru MP Reeko Moosa Manik, to pay RKL Group MVR 232,000.

This Civil Court order follows the trial of a case filed by RKL, accusing Heavy Load of having failed to pay rent for a pin barge hired from 11 May to 13 July 2007 for a project in Shaviyani Gaakoshibee.

The court ruled that Heavy Load should pay RKL a total of MVR 232,000, made up of MVR 77,000 as rent for the pin barge for 11 days and MVR 120,000 as the cost of transport of the barge to Thilafushi.

The court ordered Heavy Load to pay this amount in instalments over a period of five months.
