STO announces plans to open supermarket in Hulhumale

State Trading Organisation (STO) has announced plans to open a supermarket in Hulhumale’.

Speaking at a press conference today, Managing Director of STO Adam Azim said that discussions are underway with Housing Development Corporation (HDC) regarding securing premises for the supermarket, and that these discussions will be finalised soon.

Azim added that following research, STO has understood that one reason for the high traffic between Hulhumale’ and Male’ is the lack of basic necessities and services in Hulhumale’.

“Residents will benefit from the establishment of a supermarket in Hulhumale’, similar to the one in Male’. They won’t have to travel to Male’ as often,” he said.
