MP for the South Galolhu constituency currently a prison sentence, Ahmed Mahloof has returned to the country after medical treatment in India.
The MP’s return was confirmed to Sun Media by his family.
His wife, Nazha Naseem told Sun Media tonight that Mahloof has returned to the country tonight after medical treatment in India and is expecting the Correctional Service to take him to prison tonight.
Mahloof left to Trivandrum, India for treatment on 11 December 2016.
The MP sought treatment for getting in a serious state after failing to receive first aid for an allergic reaction. He is also being treatment for an eye condition along with physiotherapy of a throat condition.
After being sentenced ten months in prison for two counts of obstruction of Police duties, the MP has now appeal the sentences against him at the High Court.
He is also the Spokesperson for the Maldives United Opposition (MUO) active in the frontlines of the opposition protest rallies.
