Individual quarantined in Hithaadhoo tests positive for COVID-19

An individual in home-quarantine in B. Hithaadhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.

Hithaadhoo Council member Mohamed Hassan said that samples from the positive individual were collected two days ago and that the individual had returned to the island from Male’ City on July 7.

Five others are quarantined in the same residence as the individual.

“We have now requested an additional test for the individual, we are yet to receive a response from HPA.” Said Hassan.

The positive individual was well and no symptoms of the virus were evident, said Hassan who added that everyone in the same household would be quarantined for a further 14 days.
