The island of B. Kendhoo has been brought under monitoring mechanisms by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Kendhoo Council President Ahmed Saleem confirmed the news, stating that the island was brought under monitoring yesterday due to a COVID-19 positive individual in home-quarantine on the island coming into contact with another individual from the island.
Saleem specified that the contact was with another individual living in the same residence as the positive case. The contact had been living in a different part of the same residence from the positive case.
The measures were imposed in order to prevent the possible spread of the virus, said Saleem. Contact tracing and sample collection efforts were now underway.
