The Tourism Ministry has permitted split stays for tourists between resorts and safaris and the Maldives.

The move means that tourists can now split their stays in the Maldives between safaris and resorts. The Ministry has previously permitted split stays between different resorts of the nation as well.

The Ministry said that the Health Protection Agency has now begun issuing permits for the split stays. Ministry statistics show that 119 liveaboard vessels are currently in operation in the Maldives.

The Maldives has so far recorded a total of 31,801 tourist arrivals since reopening borders on July 15. The Ministry stated that the Maldivian tourism industry was slowly resurging after being hit hard by the pandemic virus. More and more airlines are also commencing operations to the Maldives as a result.
