Migrant worker dead following stabbing on board fishing boat

A migrant worker has passed away after sustaining injuries in a violent altercation between him and another migrant worker on board a fishing boat.

According to the police, the violence erupted as the boat was docked near a buoy to catch bait.

The migrant worker who passed away was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon in the incident.

The case was reported to the police at approximately 03:50 am on Sunday.

The migrant worker passed away while under treatment at the Th. Veymandoo Hospital at 11:59 am.

 Police have arrested a suspect - identified as a 42-year-old Bangladeshi male – in connection to the case.
