Yellow alert for torrential rain from K. Atoll to L. Atoll

Maldives Meteorological Service has issued yellow alert for a large part of Maldives, warning of torrential rain and thunderstorms. 

The yellow alert is in effect from 08:45 hours to 12:00 hours this Wednesday, for the area from K. Atoll to L. Atoll. 

Maldives Meteorological Service forecasts the area will be affected by torrential rain and thunderstorms. 

The current spell of bad weather has been attributed to a low pressure system over neighboring Sri Lanka.  

Maldives Meteorological Service has advised everyone, especially seafarers, to be cautious.
