Police search for two foreigners suspected of illicit trade of US dollars

Maldives Police Service is searching for two foreigners who are suspected of being involved in the illicit trade of US dollars.

Police issued a public announcement seeking help to bring in two Bangladeshi nationals; Mohamed Iqbal Hossain (Passport Number: EE0669802) and Shohel (Passport Number: BC0463544).

Police said that the two individuals are residing in the Maldives undocumented and are suspected of being involved in the illicit trade of foreign currencies.

They are both also suspected of wiring large amounts of money outside of Maldives, using forged documents.

Police have asked anyone with information regarding the two individuals to contact their Economic Crimes Department at 9790048.
