Met Office: Good weather expected during Eid

Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) states weather is expected to improve by Eid al-Adha which falls on Wednesday.

Speaking to Sun regarding the weather forecast for next week – an official from Met Office said the weather will begin improving starting Monday, with calm winds and calm seas expected.

“Showers are still expected after Monday. However, the weather will be good. Winds and the sea will be calm. It is not a complete improvement of weather, but it will not be bad,” the official said.

People are gearing up for Eid festivities across the nation for a colorful celebration.

Meanwhile, rain is expected nationwide today and tomorrow while winds and sea will be mildly rough.

The Eid holidays, which also coincide with school holidays, have increased the number of people traveling to islands. Both Met Office and Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), therewith, have urged seafarers to exercise caution in light of the weather.
