VP thanks INTERPOL for support provided in strengthening border security measures

Vice President Faisal Naseem, on Wednesday, thanked the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) for technical assistance and expertise in strengthening the Maldives’ border security measures.

The Secretary-General of INTERPOL, Jürgen Stock, paid a courtesy call on VP Faisal at the President’s Office on Wednesday.

During the meeting, VP Faisal extended gratitude to INTERPOL for technical assistance and expertise in strengthening the Maldives’ border security measures.

Both VP Faisal and Secretary-General Stock discussed ways to intensify cooperation between INTERPOL and the Maldivian government. In this regard, they explored ways to enhance cooperation through information sharing and investment in training and education. 

Secretary-General Stock expressed his desire to encourage regional police partnerships to strengthen INTERPOL’s global impact further.

He also outlined INTERPOL’s recent initiatives and emphasized the importance of collective efforts by member countries in fighting crime.

The meeting concluded with VP Faisal acknowledging the efforts of the Maldives Police Service and other law enforcement agencies in reducing crime and enhancing public safety.  He also xpressed gratitude on behalf of the Maldivian government for INTERPOLS’s support.
