Final recipients of flats under Gedhoruveriya scheme now viewable on portal

Housing Ministry, on Tuesday night, stated that the final recipients of flats under the government’s ‘Gedhoruveriya’ scheme will now be viewable on 'Gedhoruverin' portal. 

Over 20,000 applied for flats under the ‘Gedhoruveriya’ scheme from which over 13,000 have been listed as eligible.

The provisional list of flat recipients was publicized on August 8th after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced his decision to provide flats to all eligible applicants. A one-week time frame was given to submit complaints to the list.

Housing Ministry’s announcement on Tuesday night said that recipients of flats can now be viewed on the Ministry’s portal, adding they include those listed as eligible in the provisional list, and those deemed eligible after the Ministry probed complaints submitted to the provisional list.

The announcement also read that responses have been provided to applicants who were deemed ineligible through the portal, explaining the reasoning.

Those deemed ineligible will again be provided with a one-week timeframe starting today to submit any additional complaints.

The government, under phase two of the ‘Binveriya’ and ‘Gedhoruveriya’ housing scheme – has opened applications for over 4,000 land plots and 8,000 flats for Male’ residents. Some recipients who received land under the first phase have been handed over the respective plot and registry.
