Nationwide rain for the next 24 hours; rain in south on Eid

Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office) states nationwide rain is expected over the next 24 hours.

Met Office has forecast heavy rain and thunder across all Maldivian regions over the course of today and tonight.

Although showers are expected at northern islands on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; generally good weather has been forecasted for the region on these days. 

Generally good weather, with occasional showers, is also expected for the central region on Wednesday, which is anticipated to be Eid al-Fitr. However, rain has been forecasted for the southern region on Wednesday.

Met Office, underscoring the sea is not expected to be rough enough to hinder travel, nevertheless urged seafarers to exercise caution as slightly rough seas can be expected during showers.

With the last 10 days of Ramadan being public holidays, many Male’ residents have traveled to islands and vice-versa. The holidays will conclude on Saturday, henceforth, many will travel during the end of this week.
