Three, including toddler, injured in accident in Hulhumale’

A woman crossing the busy main road of Hulhumale’ holding a toddler got hit by a motorcyclist on Thursday, in a dangerous collision that resulted in injuries to all three.

The accident, which took place in front of SJ Hardware in Nirolhu Magu at around 09:23 am, was caught on CCTV.

Video footage of the incident shows a woman crossing the road while holding a toddler, who the police said was one year and eight months in age.

They are hit by a motorcyclist who was driving along the road.

The video shows that there was a car driving alongside the motorcycle, making it possible that the motorcyclist did not see the woman and child until the very last moment.

The video shows all three fell to the ground upon impact, with the toddler seen hitting his head on the asphalt.

The police said that the toddler has swelling on his head, while the motorcyclist fractured his left shoulder and sustained scrapes to his right leg. The woman sustained scrapes to her left elbow.

All three are being treated at the Hulhumale’ Hospital.

The accident is under investigation by the police.
