Fight breaks out between young women after Addu movie screening

A fight broke out on Saturday between two young women who went to see a screening of a Dhivehi movie in Addu City.

The incident took place at around 10:45 pm on Saturday, shortly after moviegoers exited the Villa College campus in the Hithadhoo district, after a movie screening.

A video recording of the incident shared by a Facebook user shows the fight took place between two young women. More women were seen attempting to intervene.

The Facebook user who shared the video said the incident took place among two women just after they exited Villa College after a screening of the movie ‘Kanbulo’.

The video also shows at least one of them being taken away in an ambulance.

A police spokesperson said on Sunday that the incident is under investigation by the police. However, he did not disclose any details, including whether there were any injuries or arrests in the case.

A resident from Hithadhoo told Sun the fight erupted over a man.
