MWSC leases land for bottling factory in Dhuvaafaru

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has leased land for its first bottling factory in the atolls – which will be built in R. Dhuvaafaru.

Managing Director of MWSC, Fazul Rasheed reported that the 6,000 bottles per hour bottling factor will cost MVR 15 million to build.

Fazul said that Dhuvaafaru Council has leased MWSC a 10,000 square feet property to build the factory in.

He did not disclose the lease rate.

Fazul said that property it has leased in Dhuvaafaru has enough space to build an additional plant, if need be, depending on the demand.

He said that the design work was complete and the company was currently working on purchasing materials needed to build the factory.

He said that construction of the factory was expected to begin during the first quarter of 2017.

MWSC is contracted to manage water, sewerage, electricity, and environment friendly waste management in Dhuvaafaru for a period of 25 years.
