The former chief magistrate of A. Dh. Maamingili Court, Ahmed Nihan has been transported back to prison after treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Male’ City.
Information officer at Maldives Correctional Service, Ahmed Lugman said Nihan was admitted at IGMH last Monday night for some tests. He said Nihan was transported back to prison at 7:30 am this Tuesday, and that he was feeling well.
Nihan is serving a 17-year prison sentence after he was found guilty of attempting and participating in an act of terror by plotting to illegally detain President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
The case also involves former Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin, who is also serving a 17-year prison sentence.
