Maldives Red Crescent has started an awareness campaign called “Hushiyaaru”, in order to nurture a society that is ready for the effects of climate change.

As per the statement released by Maldivian Red Crescent, there are three main reasons for this campaign. They are:

  1. To raise public awareness about the impacts of climate change and the importance of taking immediate action to meet the challenges of climate change.
  2. Empowering individuals and society as a whole to deal with climate-related risks.
  3. Encourage everyone to be involved in climate issues without targeting any particular group.

As an organization working to prepare for disasters and increase humanitarian assistance, the Red Crescent is also prepared to assist in the challenges posed by the weather.

The primary objective of the Maldivian Red Crescent is to provide humanitarian assistance, as well as prevent and alleviate human suffering. The Red Crescent of Maldives is the 187th member of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the largest humanitarian organization.
